{"id":149,"date":"2009-02-12T12:14:41","date_gmt":"2009-02-12T12:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.serscis.eu\/?p=149"},"modified":"2009-02-12T12:14:41","modified_gmt":"2009-02-12T12:14:41","slug":"serscis-scenario-agreed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/serscis\/2009\/02\/12\/serscis-scenario-agreed\/","title":{"rendered":"SERSCIS Scenario Agreed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SERSCIS has evaluated two application scenarios in the airport domain from which validation case studies will be derived:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.euro-cdm.org\/\">Collaborative Decision Making<\/a> (CDM) in Airport operations.<\/li>\n<li>IT infrastructure involved in the creation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fab-europe-central.eu\/\">Functional Airspace Blocks<\/a> as part of European Air Traffic Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The SERSCIS consortium has decided to focus its validation efforts on the airport CDM scenario.<\/p>\n<div>Airport CDM aims at integrating and globally optimising the processes of the stakeholders involved in the turn-around of an aircraft at an airport: the air navigation service provider (ANSP), the airport operator and the airlines and the ground handling companies participating in CDM.<\/p>\n<p>Process integration and optimisation is based on a real-time exchange of relevant data between the stakeholders. Thus it is required to interconnect the ICT systems of the above-mentioned stakeholders. Several interconnection approaches are possible ranging from a point-to-point mesh to a central database. All approaches do rely on a service-oriented architectureand must meet high standards with respect to availability, safety and security.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The SERSCIS methodologies and tools will be used to model and compose the airport CDM ICT system, to ensure its governance and to provide decision support for operators in case of attacks or technical failures. As the basis of the application scenario infrastructure is in operational use, it cannot be applied for the purpose of the project.
