Copyright can be defined as: the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material. Be careful, check what you can and cannot do with a \u2018published\u2019 work.<\/p>\n<p>In general, for research you may use another author\u2019s work as a source of information or inspiration provided that you acknowledge or give credit to the author and the work.\u00a0This is <strong>provided that you do not intend to make your dissertation publicly available<\/strong>, for example on the web.
