I have learnt to apply top\u00a0of the range\u00a0 laboratory techniques, including quantitative PCR and immunohistochemistry,\u00a0and was\u00a0able to train to receive a personal Home Office license for performing research in the biomedical Research Facility. Few universities offer this to Master\u2019s students and I feel this gives Southampton an edge; the ability to perform cutting edge <i>in vivo <\/i>work is immensely rewarding and provides an extra layer to the opportunities provided here.
