Users are familiar with cards and how to interact with them as they are used in everyday life e.g. playing cards, loyalty cards, flashcards etc. The application will use the card and swipe interface metaphor to allow users to choose their hobbies.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Swipe\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The &#8216;swipe&#8217; metaphor,\u00a0 made popular on social media by Tinder, is a key metaphor in the application. It was decided to use this metaphor as it is one that users are very familiar with and thus would easily convey to them how to use the app. Other metaphors will include linking\/connecting with people, browsing profiles, liking posts.\u00a0Upon registration users will be presented with a variety of hobbies on\u00a0cards, they must swipe left if they are interested in it or swipe right if they are not.
