Learning to Teach

Welcome to the partnership website for the PGCE (Primary) programme at the University of Southampton. The site provides information to all those who work within our partnership so that our trainees benefit from a fully integrated training experience as they learn to teach.

The site provides information for Class Mentors to help support them in their role whilst our trainees are on school placement. The necessary paperwork can also be downloaded from the forms section and every week during the time our trainees are in school, update posts will ba made to guide Class Mentors and trainees through the activities of the week ahead.

Not receiving update notifications?

The email address of LATiS teachers, Class Mentors and trainees are added to the system prior to the start of the LATiS days and each school placement.

If you do not receive notifications of an update, please check your junk and spam folders.

If you are still unable to locate them, please resubmit your contact details using the form at the bottom of every page.

Primary Entitlement Document

This is an important document that all Class Mentors and trainees should be aware of. The Class Mentor’s responsibilities from this document are also included in the School Placement Handbook.
