Rosalind is a co-director of the research project.  She is Professor of Sociology at the University of Southampton, and has researched and published extensively on family issues, services and policies.  Ros is leading on the review of published reports and online discussions about data linkage and analytics, and the survey of parents\u2019 attitudes, and contributing to all other aspects of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Val Gillies<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Val is a co-director of the research project.  She is Professor of Social Policy\/Criminology at the University of Westminster. She researches in the area of family, social class, marginalised children and young people, and historical comparative analysis.  Val is leading on the group and individual interviews with parents, as well as contributing to all other aspects of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Vannier Ducasse<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Senior research fellow<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne is a\u00a0critical sociologist interested in the political representation of underprivileged people and the unequal impact of social policies.\u00a0Among other topics, she inquired into the potential consequences of the use of predictive risk modelling for child protection in England, in view of the low prevalence and limited understanding of \u2018maltreatment\u2019. H\u00e9l\u00e8ne is contributing to the analysis of the focus groups and interviews and to other aspects of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Sarah Gorin<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senior research fellow<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Sarah has worked as a Senior Research Fellow on the project, formerly based at the University of Southampton and now at the University of Warwick where she is an Assistant Professor.  She has extensive experience of conducting research in the field of children\u2019s social care.  Sarah has been responsible for the day-to-day conduct of research and has contributed to all aspects of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Garrington<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Communications and dissemination<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Chris, formerly a BBC radio journalist, runs a consultancy that supports academics in maximising the impact of their research. She specialises in the communication and dissemination of research to non-academic audiences through websites, blogs, media, social media and has a particular interest in podcasting.
