Application Process

Molecular and Translational Immunology Four Year PhD studentships are advertised in December with a start date of 1st October the following year. The application deadline will be in late January, with interviews in mid-February. Applicants will be asked to give a short 7 minute presentation before the interview, based on a research topic they have studied, prior to interview by a panel of 4-5 academics including members of Programme committee. Skype presentation and interview are offered to ensure inclusivity as required. Opportunities to meet with current PhD students will be available on the day.

 Funding is available for a limited number of places. Subject to eligibility, studentship stipends for personal support are at Wellcome studentship rates outside London (~£18,000) plus full UK fees with funded uplift for non-UK fee eligible students. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton has a strong reputation in research, enterprise and education, with an emphasis on translating new discoveries from basic science into clinical innovation
