<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nI have to say, I was pleasantly surprised this received a plethora of \u2018likes\u2019. I think this struck a chord with many (well, my FB\/Twitter\/Instagram friends at least!) \u2013 as we continue to trudge forward through this seemingly never-ending pandemic. (I am not a Facebook fanatic but, now and again one feels philosophical, and must announce this!!) Actually, to stand still and remain calm and reflect may well be the best strategy.\u00a0 We seem to be rushing from one fire to the next, whether in our private lives or at work. Somehow, we have lost the time to stop<\/em>\u2026 and think<\/em>\u2026 if we ever did this in the first place?
I am pleased to say there has been much reflection and strategizing which has led to the evolution of Enterprise in Medicine and, we are entering an exciting new era. The new School of Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation is set up, the new Head of School, Cheryl Metcalfe, is heading the Enterprise agenda so, the Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise (KEE) arena has never been more exciting. This goes along well with the renewed Enterprise and Knowledge exchange strategy.
For those of you who are still struggling with what KEE is, well it\u2019s one of the three elements of the University\u2019s Triple Helix Strategy \u2013 Research, Education, Enterprise. Enterprise is anything we do to make the world a better place, often innovative and frequently for social good.
Right now, until mid-January 2022, numerous Enterprise Fellow positions are up for grabs, where those interested in Enterprise can not only learn the ropes of the \u2018who\u2019 and \u2018how to\u2019, but also start building their enterprising world. It does not require you to do more but, the Fellowship \u2018buys\u2019 part of your time, time you previously did not have (6 months, which can be extended), so you can dedicate time to embarking on your innovation and enterprise journey.

As I reflect on my own enterprise journey so far, I am reminded of the ups and downs, the tears and laughter. Indeed, our invention might never make it (or maybe it will) but, the colleagues and the forever friends are there to treasure forever. This is truly when I remember to appreciate it is often the journey rather than the destination in life that is important. So, when we are calm, despite the storm outside, and take time to think and reflect, we find that we are motivated and energised to continue on our journey. \u00a0
