Mediating ‘China’: Postgraduate Symposium of Visual Representations of the People, Traditions and Spaces of Chinese-speaking Communities
This symposium, hosted by the Centre for International Film Research under the Film department at Southampton, will explore how the spaces, identities, languages, peoples, and traditions of various Chinese-speaking communities have been visualised and represented in a variety of visual media. The event is organised by a group of PhD students in Film Studies at Southampton (James Jackson, Sakura Kang, Maggie Li, Fangfang Lin) under the advice of Dr Ruby Cheung.
