However, it is challenging to test if infant hearing aids give a benefit. One approach for this is to measure brain responses to speech. These are difficult signals to measure, and current approaches are not well suited for clinical work. We explored efficient ways to measure brain responses to natural speech using a single channel of EEG recording, demonstrating mean detection times below 5 mins for the best method.
