{"id":16,"date":"2018-08-09T11:43:02","date_gmt":"2018-08-09T10:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/innoconf19\/?page_id=16"},"modified":"2018-11-23T10:48:39","modified_gmt":"2018-11-23T10:48:39","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/innoconf19\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Modern Languages and Linguistics at University of Southampton is honoured to host the 9<sup>th<\/sup> annual conference in the\u00a0<strong>Innovative Language Teaching and Learning at University<\/strong>\u00a0series, which will take place on 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The conference follows on from the great success in Newcastle (2011), Bristol (2012), Manchester (2013), Leeds (2014), Nottingham (2015), York (2016), Milton Keynes (2017) and Liverpool (2018).<\/p>\n<p>InnoConf19 welcomes professionals involved in the teaching and learning of Languages to share their expertise, innovative approaches and creative solutions to face the challenges ahead of modern language teaching.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Treasuring languages: innovative and creative approaches in HE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In recent years we have been witnessing a consistent decline in applications to study languages at UK universities. How is the HE sector responding to this crisis?<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this year\u2019s Innoconf19 conference aims to ignite discussions and seek innovative approaches dealing with creative ways to raise awareness about the value of learning languages.<\/p>\n<p>Languages allow learners to gain an understanding of other countries and cultures.
