The conference will be held in Southampton, which is a university city of about 200,000 people, on the South coast of England.<\/p>\n
Southampton<\/a> is an important port city and is well-known as a centre for sailing and cruising. It is surrounded by attractive countryside including the New Forest<\/a> and the South Downs National Park<\/a>. It is near the beautiful coastline of the Jurassic Coast<\/a> which is famous for its cliffs, coves and fossils. The beautiful and historic island of the Isle of Wight<\/a> is opposite Southampton, and easily accessible by a short boat ride from the ferry terminal just opposite the conference venue. The cathedral cities of Winchester<\/a> and Salisbury<\/a>, and the ancient site of Stonehenge<\/a>, are nearby. The Southampton Boat Show<\/a> is a major nautical event which starts ten days after our conference.<\/p>\n
