February 2017 marked the start of another exciting <\/span>phase of the <\/span>Hertfordshire Cohort <\/span>Study.<\/span> In 2011-12, Dr Mark Edwards conducted some ground-breaking work which <\/span>used special scanners to investigate the structure of bone and muscle in the arms and legs (pQCT and HRpQCT). <\/span>Five years on and we are repeating those scans; <\/span>this will provide invaluable information not just about the structure of bones but also how that structure changes <\/span>over time in later life<\/span>. So far we have recruited over 100 participants to this follow-up study and hope to have many more visit our clinic before the end of the study in early autumn. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
