This work stream addresses the research question “How do we conceptualise, synthesise and effectively articulate, to a wide audience of stakeholders and academics from different disciplinary backgrounds, the multiple interactions between low carbon transport and health/wellbeing?”
We will critically evaluate existing knowledge including evidence relating to uptake, CO2e reduction and health benefits (including via intermediate indicators) of previous low-carbon transport schemes; to develop and populate a comprehensive, systems-based transdisciplinary conceptual framework for understanding the range of interactions, co-benefits and potential trade-offs in the transport-health-environment-wellbeing nexus. Mapping each system of interest in relation to others will reveal hidden interdependencies, transforming design of low-carbon transport interventions.
