Case studies

Lead: Prof Phill Wheat, with Case Study champions

This work stream will address the research question “How have some typical current interventions and policies performed in terms of intended and unintended direct and indirect impacts?”

We will develop new insights by using the systems-based transdisciplinary conceptual framework and evaluation frameworks and input from the People’s Panel to evaluate Case Studies of the uptake and likely health benefits of selected recent, current and innovative transport decarbonisation initiatives. This workstream will:

  1. make significant contributions to the literature regarding the evaluation and success of real transport decarbonisation schemes
  1. provide testbeds for developing and refining the HLTH assessment frameworks
  1. have the potential to influence the later-stage implementation of schemes, thereby improving the health benefits of on-the-ground delivery
  1. provide recommendations for the design of future transport decarbonisation schemes and related policies, including our proposed Pilot Interventions, to maximise health co-benefits
