noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a&nbsp;Programme&nbsp;External&nbsp;Examiner appointed to&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;oversight of a&nbsp;Programme, you should complete sections&nbsp;1 to 13&nbsp;of the report.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see from the report template, we ask you to consider the soundness of the assessment process and opportunities for education enhancement and ask you to comment on:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the appropriateness of standards set&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>comparability of student performance&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>assessment processes&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>student performance&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>strengths and innovative features&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the information made available to you&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>enhancements to the student experience&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You are requested to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;your report to<strong>\u202f<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:eesoton@soton.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eesoton@soton.ac.uk<\/a>\u202fno later than<strong>\u202ffour weeks<\/strong>\u202fafter the final Board of Examiners meeting for the academic year of the report.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chief External Examiner<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief External Examiner Report template is available to download&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sotonac.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/r\/teams\/PublicDocuments\/Shared%20Documents\/quality-handbook\/Chief%20External%20Examiners%20Report.dotx?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a Chief&nbsp;External&nbsp;Examiner, you should complete&nbsp;all&nbsp;sections&nbsp;of the template.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a Chief&nbsp;External&nbsp;Examiner, you should expect to receive copies of the reports completed by the&nbsp;Programme&nbsp;External&nbsp;Examiners.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you have not, please contact the Programme Team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see from the report template, we ask you to consider the soundness of the assessment process and opportunities for education&nbsp;enhancement&nbsp;across all versions of the programme&nbsp;and ask you to comment on:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>whether the&nbsp;academic standards consistent between the versions of the programme taught in each location\/delivery mode&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>any recommendations&nbsp;for the Programme Team(s)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>any&nbsp;innovative&nbsp;or good practice&nbsp;identified.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guidelines for External Examiners working across multiple delivery locations<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New&nbsp;guidelines&nbsp;have been developed to support&nbsp;External Examiners working across Delivery Locations, this includes a checklist of prompts to aid you in completing your report. &nbsp;You can find this guidance&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sotonac.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/r\/teams\/PublicDocuments\/Shared%20Documents\/quality-handbook\/Guidelines%20for%20External%20Examiners%20working%20across%20Delivery%20Locations.pdf?csf=1&amp;web=1&amp;e=mf3pNW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;It was also&nbsp;quoted&nbsp;in&nbsp;your letter of appointment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are requested to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;your report to<strong>\u202f<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:eesoton@soton.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eesoton@soton.ac.uk<\/a>\u202fno later than<strong>\u202ffour weeks<\/strong>\u202fafter the final Board of Examiners meeting for the academic year of the report.&nbsp;&nbsp;However, if reports from Programme&nbsp;External&nbsp;Examiners are delayed, this&nbsp;will&nbsp;also&nbsp;delay your deadline&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You should expect to receive a response to your report from the&nbsp;School&nbsp;within\u202f<strong>eight weeks<\/strong>\u202fof&nbsp;submitting&nbsp;it.
