{"id":57,"date":"2019-08-14T20:27:27","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T19:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/education-green-space\/?page_id=57"},"modified":"2020-08-28T15:07:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T14:07:00","slug":"about-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/education-green-space\/about-2\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The project<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The Education in the Green Space project is a joint endeavour between Biological Sciences and Southampton Education School, at the University of Southampton, funded by&nbsp;the National&nbsp;Environmental Research&nbsp;Council.&nbsp;The project aims to identify barriers faced in teaching environmental topics in schools and what possible solutions are there for Hampshire schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This website collates information on environmental education as well as&nbsp;activities&nbsp;for both primary and secondary schools which link to the UK&nbsp;National Curriculum.&nbsp;These provide&nbsp;different ways in which schools can access green spaces, and lots of online resources for teachers&nbsp;such as videos, apps and games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/education-green-space\/eigs-guide\/\">The Education in the Green Space (EIGS)&nbsp;Guide<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.efolio.soton.ac.uk\/blog\/education-green-space\/making-the-most-of-your-green-space\/\">&nbsp;<\/a>is an online version of our booklet, and aims to provide an easy introduction to using outdoor spaces for education.
