However I am more interested in how CGI can be composited into the real world.<\/p>\n<p>For example, The water horse in The Lord of The Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring (2001). Here a wave of water morphs into stampede of CG water horses which is then composited into the background plate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-477\" src=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/dpty2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/229\/2017\/12\/IMG_2890-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/dpty2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/229\/2017\/12\/IMG_2890-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/dpty2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/229\/2017\/12\/IMG_2890-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/dpty2\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/229\/2017\/12\/IMG_2890-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Elements of my own short film will consist of having a CGI mug and collection rocks composited into my footage.
