{"id":6152,"date":"2021-04-13T09:05:33","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T08:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/?p=6152"},"modified":"2023-08-23T15:24:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-23T14:24:11","slug":"digital-learning-media-team-to-release-film-school-autumn-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/2021\/04\/13\/digital-learning-media-team-to-release-film-school-autumn-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Learning Media team to launch film school Summer 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the start of the&nbsp;pandemic,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Media Development team produced the <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.soton.ac.uk\/open\/digital-learning\/VideoSurvalKit\/index.html#\/\">Video Survival <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/guides.soton.ac.uk\/open\/digital-learning\/VideoSurvalKit\/index.html#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Guide (opens in a new tab)\">Guide<\/a>&nbsp;to help staff get the basics right for producing videos from home.&nbsp;Continuing the University\u2019s strategy to enhance&nbsp;the quality of&nbsp;our online offering,&nbsp;the Digital Learning team are&nbsp;now&nbsp;setting up a&nbsp;broader&nbsp;Film&nbsp;School for&nbsp;later in&nbsp;2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aimed&nbsp;primarily&nbsp;at Academic staff (although&nbsp;students&nbsp;can enrol too),&nbsp;Film&nbsp;School will&nbsp;support our teaching and learning community to have access to&nbsp;the&nbsp;tools, skillset and advice that will enable them to create their own videos to an acceptable standard during the COVID-19 pandemic&nbsp;and beyond.&nbsp;The main objective is to provide attendees of the course with enough knowledge and confidence to do some of the more straight-forward filming themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is film school?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Film school is an exciting new collaborative venture between the Media teams of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/media\/index.page\">Digital Learning<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/education\/index.page\">Southampton Education School<\/a>.
