Sway can be accessed with a university account through&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/go.soton.ac.uk\/365login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office 365<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sway can also be included in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nearpod.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nearpod<\/a>&nbsp;presentation, alongside&nbsp;interactive questions and activities to help consolidate and develop understanding. &nbsp;Nearpod&#8217;s &#8216;Live Lesson&#8217; option&nbsp;helps students participate more actively in a taught session, while the &#8216;Student Paced&#8217; setting allows them to work through activities in their own time.<\/p>\n<p>The showcase of presentation tools concluded with a look at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/prezi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prezi<\/a>, which allows users to follow a path&nbsp;around a single screen or image,&nbsp;zooming in to uncover further text, images or video.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-177\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/VS-300x218.png?resize=250%2C182\" alt=\"What makes you strong?\" width=\"250\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/VS.png?resize=300%2C218&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/VS.png?resize=768%2C557&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/VS.png?resize=414%2C300&amp;ssl=1 414w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/VS.png?w=779&amp;ssl=1 779w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Volunteers shared their first attempts at using some of the tools introduced in previous sessions, with results demonstrating that with a clear idea, beginners can produce great results.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Lucy Green created &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/looceegreen\/status\/885159722764173318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What makes you strong<\/a>?&#8217;&nbsp;using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.videoscribe.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VideoScribe<\/a>&nbsp;as an engaging way of presenting research findings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Judith Holloway gave a quick demonstration of using <a href=\"https:\/\/biteable.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biteable<\/a>, resulting in an&nbsp;appealing <a href=\"https:\/\/biteable.com\/watch\/the-best-msc-ever-1428822\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video&nbsp;to promote MSc Allergy<\/a> that was neither time nor resource intensive to produce.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thinglink.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ThingLink<\/a>&#8216;s&nbsp;interactive 360\u00b0 image tool has been used&nbsp;to&nbsp;draw&nbsp;together different <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/medicine\/research\/ids\/ids-research-areas.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IDS Research Areas<\/a>, with each individual in the photo linking out to&nbsp;further information.<\/p>\n<p>In a new guest spot, recommended app of the month was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/photomath.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Photomath<\/a>, which reads and solves handwritten equations.<\/p>\n<p>We finished the year with another look at Twitter and talked about raising the profile of tweets by (for instance) including the @handles for relevant events or users in a tweet or adding appropriate hashtags to make tweets searchable. &nbsp;The Faculty marketing team can help source an appropriate image for a university Twitter account from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shutterstock.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shutterstock<\/a>,&nbsp;or the university&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dams.soton.ac.uk\/mediabin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media bin<\/a>&nbsp;is another option.<\/p>\n<p>We will return with further sessions in the new academic year.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-179\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN-300x103.jpg?resize=250%2C86\" alt=\"mein\" width=\"250\" height=\"86\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN.jpg?resize=300%2C103&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN.jpg?resize=768%2C262&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN.jpg?resize=1024%2C350&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN.jpg?resize=500%2C171&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/digital-learning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/321\/2017\/07\/MEIN.jpg?w=1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>On September 25<sup>th<\/sup>, the Medical Education Innovation Network launch conference takes place;
