Dial-a-Molecule Grand Challenge Institute<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rapid reaction analysis <\/a>has been identified by the\u00a0Dial-a-Molecule Grand Challenge\u00a0as an area most in need of a central facility<\/strong><\/span>, due to the cost of equipment\/instruments, and even more critically, the provision of expertise to provide training in the use and interpretation of data.<\/p>\n

Such a facility would give access to state-of-the-art automated synthesis<\/strong><\/span> and analysis equipment<\/span><\/strong>, advanced data analysis<\/strong><\/span>, mining and management software<\/strong><\/span> and skilled staff.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0facility would aim to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Provide\u00a0UK wide access to facilities<\/em><\/span> that are currently unavailable to the majority of chemists thus accelerating discovery and manufacture<\/em><\/span>.<\/li>\n
  2. Drive\u00a0the development<\/em><\/span> and adoption<\/em><\/span> of equipment and software for next generation synthesis<\/span><\/em>.<\/li>\n
  3. Enable\u00a0research<\/em><\/span> for reaction scoping, robustness, and predictability.<\/li>\n
  4. Address the current skills gap and improve the employability of graduates<\/em><\/span>.<\/li>\n
  5. Act as a Hub<\/em><\/span>, liaising with existing centres (e.g. Manufacturing Catapult, CPI, CMAC, CPACT etc)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The proposed Grand Challenge Institute<\/strong><\/span> would be available to all UK scientists across all sectors. \u00a0To help shape the proposal and identify what is required we ran a short survey. \u00a0The results were extremely positive and are depicted graphically below. \u00a0If you have any questions about the survey, or would like to know more\/become involved with the institute, please contact\u00a0Dr Mimi Hii<\/a>.<\/p>\n
