It is one of the largest conferences in Europe with about 15,000\u00a0 participants. Presenters included Frances Dunn (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soton.ac.uk\">University of Southampton<\/a>) on present and future sediment fluxes to deltas worldwide, including the DECCMA deltas; Tuhin Ghosh (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jaduniv.edu.in\/\">Jadavpur University<\/a>) on plausible future aquaculture expansion in the Indian Bengal Delta; and Attila Lazar on possible development trajectories for coastal Bangladesh (based on work funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/reachwater.org.uk\/\">REACH Project<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>A large number of posters were also presented, including an overview of the DECCMA project and a lot of work on subsidence in deltas.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was a good foundation for exchange.\u00a0 DECCMA researchers discussed future meetings with Dutch colleagues, at EGU and elsewhere, to extend collaboration on\u00a0 multidisciplinary delta research.<\/p>\n<p> <p class=\"wpsm-hide\" style=\"color: #cc0000; font-size: 100%; text-align: left;\"> show less<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Robert Nicholls and Attila Lazar A number of DECCMA researchers participated in the recent\u00a0European Geophysical Union&#8217;s annual assembly\u00a0in Vienna.
