Chaired by Professor Shamsul Alam, Senior Secretary in the General Economic Division of the Planning Commission, the workshop provided the opportunity for researchers to present their evaluations of the effect of three interventions proposed under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bangladeshdeltaplan2100.org\/\">Delta Plan 2100<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div><div class=\"show_more\"><p class=\"wpsm-show\" style=\"color: #cc0000; font-size: 100%; text-align: left;\"> show more<\/p><div class=\"wpsm-content\"><\/div>\n<p>Research team members <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/engineering\/about\/staff\/rjn.page\">Professor Robert Nicholls<\/a> and Dr Alex Chapman (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/\">University of Southampton<\/a>) and Professors Md. Munsur Rahman, Mashfiqus Salehin and Anisul Haque (<a href=\"http:\/\/iwfm.buet.ac.bd\/iwfm\/\">Institute of Water and Flood Management, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology<\/a>) outlined the implications of three structural interventions under the Delta Plan 2100: \u2018Green belt\u2019 along the\u00a0 coastal vulnerable area and sea walls along a selection of polders (sea-facing and a cluster in the south central part of the coast).<\/p>\n<p>Professor Alam\u00a0expressed his appreciation for the analysis and stated that it will allow more confidence about its application. DECCMA has furthered the evolving relationship with the Planning Commission.
