His research areas are quantitative remote sensing of soil vegetation atmosphere system, multispectral radiative transfer modelling of the coupled surface-atmosphere system and Algorithm for atmospheric correction of satellite measurements for RS application. He has developed radiative transfer algorithms for satellite RS application. Zahedul Islam is a remote sensing scientist; presently working as chief scientific officer in Bangladesh Space Research and Remote sensing Organization (SPARRSO). His field of interest is water related disasters (flood, drought, river erosion and water logging).
