\"S_Hazra\"Dr. Sugata Hazra, Director, School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University, has been involved with researches on Oceanic Resources & Coastal Management, Climate Change and Populous Deltas, Petroleum Potential of Fold thrust belts, Tsunamis & Coastal Disaster, Marine Fishing Zone Prediction & validation, Carbon Flux Estimation and many others. A member of XVIth Indian Antarctic Expedition, he has also done pioneering work on vulnerability and impact of Climate Change in Indian Sundarban.\u00a0 He established the full scale Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory at the SOS, JU in 2003 and has been working as PI of various scientific projects of Government and NGOs.<\/p>\n

\"TuhinDr. Tuhin Ghosh, faculty member of School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University has research interests in coastal geomorphology, disaster management, ICZM, socio-ecological research along with climate change impacts and possible adaptation strategies. Engaged in research since 1994, Tuhin has a number of publications and books to his name. Currently Dr. Ghosh is the Indian Lead of two international projects working in both the Indian and Bangladesh Sundarban and Mahanadi deltas in Odisha.<\/p>\n

\"RabindraDr Bhattacharya has a PhD in Economics (Utah State University, USA) and he has five decades of teaching experience in Indian & international institutes (including SANDEE). \u00a0With many publications in leading national and international journals, he has also edited a book on Environmental Economics, Oxford University Press, India. \u00a0He is involved in Work Package 4 of DECCMA.<\/p>\n

Dr Anirban Mukhopadhyay<\/h1>\n

\"AnirbanDr. Anirban Mukhopadhyay has a Masters in Marine Science, M.Tech in Remote Sensing & GIS and Ph.D and is an Environmental Modeller. He has more than six years research experience on different fields of remote sensing and GIS, hazard and vulnerability modelling, land cover modelling and Ecosystem Services. For DECCMA, Dr. Mukhopadhyay\u2019s research focuses on climate change hotspot mapping and understanding vulnerability to climatic hazards. Using satellite and census data along with field survey, he analyses climatic trend, land use and land cover changes and vulnerability to determine where migration is likely to happen in the future.<\/p>\n

Dr Somnath Hazra<\/h1>\n

\"SomnathDr. Somnath Hazra is a young Environmental Researcher and has a Ph.D in Forest Economics with 14 years of research experience in Climate Change, ecological economics and development economics. His main areas of interests are Policy and field level research, analysis and NRM research and climate change Adaptation and modelling. \u00a0For the DECCMA project, he is involved in Work Package 4 and Work Package 6. \u00a0Adaptation Policy review and policy gap analysis and climatic economic modelling interest him, apart from understanding the existing and emergent trends of migration.<\/p>\n

Amit Ghosh<\/h1>\n

\"AmitAmit Ghosh is a Doctoral Fellow in the School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University. He works for the Environmental Management Group of CSIR-CIMFR. \u00a0Mr. Ghosh received his Masters in Remote Sensing and GIS from Vidyasagar University. \u00a0His research interest focuses on Geoinformatics based environmental modelling. \u00a0For the DECCMA Project, Mr. Ghosh is involved in research on vulnerability, hazards, and climate change hotspot mapping which are part of Work Package 2.<\/p>\n

Shouvik Das<\/h1>\n

\"ShouvikShouvik Das is a Doctoral Fellow at the School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University and has completed his M.Sc. (Geography) from Calcutta University and M.Phil. (Oceanography and Coastal Management) from Jadavpur University. He has worked as JRF (SIS-DP Project) in DST, GoWB. \u00a0His research interests are geo-informatics, statistical data analysis and social surveys. \u00a0Within the DECCMA project, he is working on Work Package 2 and Work Package 3. His research area is migration in the context of vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Subhajit Ghosh<\/h1>\n

\"SubhajitSubhajit Ghosh is a Junior Researcher at the School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University. \u00a0Having a B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering, he is also trained in Remote Sensing & GIS application (PG Dip). He has more than five years\u2019 experience for providing technical support in various national and international research projects in the field of image processing, spatial programming, data analysis and numerical modelling. \u00a0He is also trained in handling various hydrographic survey instruments. \u00a0Subhajit is part of the Work Package 5 DECCMA team and will provide technical support for designing and testing the model framework.<\/p>\n

Subhas Acharyya was born in Pathar Pratima, the southernmost block of the Sundarbans.\u00a0 He has served the Government of West Bengal under the Sundarban Development Board in the capacity of Joint Project Director and is now (post-retirement) nominated as its member.\u00a0 He is experienced in conducting field surveys, preparation of reports, preparation of projects, preparation of Annual Action Plan & Annual Reports, monitoring & evaluation of projects, organising workshops & seminars, liaison to Government deptartments and organisations.\u00a0\u00a0Subhas has also attended national and international seminars and workshops on the development and conservation of delta & estuary in India and abroad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
