Set up in 1997, the Centre for Environment and Development (CED) has grown into an interdisciplinary base as an autonomous civil society organisation. Founded with an endowment, CED has focused its attention to the areas of action research, analytical reporting, preparation of integrated management plan, environment impact assessment and auditing, imparting training policy research and publications. CED works in the fields of Ecological Impact Analysis of Development Projects, Integrated Management of Natural Resources, Biodiversity Conservation, Sustainable Development, Coastal Zone Management and Impacts of Climate Change. Chilika Development Authority (CDA) was created under the administrative control of the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Orissa, in 1992 for restoring the lake ecosystem and sustainable management of the lake resources. CDA undertook several measures for Lake Remediation, most important of which was a major hydrological intervention in the form of opening a new mouth to restore its hydrological regime. This resulted in restoration of the lake ecosystem, improvement of salinity regime, enhancement of fish landing, decrease of invasive species and improvement of livelihoods of communities. National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is a constituent of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). \u00a0It is responsible for satellite data acquisition, processing and dissemination from various Indian and foreign satellites, aerial surveys and large scale mapping services. Sansristi stresses on real world analysis and a concern for the living standards for women to produce quality research based on critical analyses and women’s voices.
