There are no volume controls since the level is pre-set.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers are also used for sound from the bench PC, DVD player, a laptop or other connected device. You can control the volume of these sources using the <a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/cls\/online-guide\/touch-screen-control-panel\/\">touch-screen control panel<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/cls\/online-guide\/button-control-panel\/\">button control panel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Touch-screen control panel<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the control panel to select the source (e.g. laptop) and check that students can see its video output.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the up\/down buttons to raise\/lower the volume<\/li>\n<li>Tap the central button to mute\/in-mute the audio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Button control panel<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the control panel to select the source (e.g. laptop) and check that students can see its video output<\/li>\n<li>Some control panels have volume buttons while others have a rotary control.<\/li>\n<li>Tap the up\/down buttons OR rotate the control to raise\/lower the volume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Note that for PCs, laptops and other devices, the volume is <strong>also<\/strong> controlled by the playback volume selected using its software. If you can&#8217;t hear anything, check that the sound has not been muted on the touch-screen control panel <strong>and<\/strong> the computer&#8217;s audio controls.
