Based on the principle of The Mouse Exchange (www.themouseexchange.org), Build-A-Chick is a creative way to get people talking about how they feel the life of the chicken we consume is linked to carbon/environmental footprints.
By running in-person workshops we are trying to encourage people to talk about their views and beliefs on reaching net-zero in the poultry meat industry. Whilst sewing a chick from egg out of felt and thread, we are hoping to create a relaxed atmosphere for people to discuss with us and each other what the future might hold for these little chicks. At the end they complete a Chick Passport that fills their chick with meaning about the farming system and energy infrastructure through to its future life in a chicken meal.
