Trust involves risk: making oneself vulnerable to the decisions of others. Credibility is a measure of others perception an individual or group\u2019s trustworthiness.<\/p>\n<p>A Britizen <a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/britizen\/2017\/05\/05\/britizen-score\/\">credit score<\/a> is an independent measure of credibility. Each individual\u2019s score is affected not only by their own actions, but by that of their Britizen \u2018friends\u2019. \u00a0Having high scoring friends increases the score; lower scoring friends reduce it. Peer pressure encourages individuals to act in a trustworthy and socially responsible fashion, without government interference. Those behaving inappropriately risk the disapproval or exclusion from a friendship group. Essentially Britizen scores provide a global reputation based trust mechanism. This is explored in more detail in a <a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/britizen\/2017\/04\/13\/determining-financial-and-social-credit-from-social-network-data-academic-background\/\">separate post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Global reputation systems such as Ebay<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> and Tripadvisor<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> are common on\u00a0 Web platforms. When individual identities are not verified there is a risk of deception by collusion.
