Question 1 investigates the people’s use of social networking sites. The results show that only 4 participants have never used any social networking sites before. Therefore, we can conclude that social network sites are indeed a potential market that attracts many Internet users.
Question 2 is about the frequency of use of social network sites. The bar chart below shows that Facebook is the most frequently used platform; Facebook, Instagram and Twitter tend to be used more frequently than Snapchat, which means that those users have been producing more content on that three applications.
Question 3 analysed Internet users’ intentions of using social networking sites. The bar chart shows that 21 participants take part on social media to relieve stress, and 19 of them share their feelings and emotions on their social network profiles. Therefore, it will be easy for Aura system to scan and analyse people’s information about their feelings and emotions because they are very frequent to post and comment things related to their emotions.
Question 4 focuses on what activities people do when they are on social networks. It shows that people are very happy to share things online that will be helpful for us to build a significant database to conduct sentiment analysis. The favourite activities are: “read and look my friends’ contents and news”, “read news and posts, watch videos”, “see posts/watch videos/read the news”. It reflects that social network is also an important platform for people to keep informed consuming different kinds of media.
