Using minimalism as a theme, music students perform compositions by Steve Reich and works from composers based here in Southampton alongside professional guest players. Tickets are \u00a310 and better still completely <strong>FREE<\/strong> for students (you must have a student ID). The gallery is also showing work from other artists, including stunning sculptures by S\u0131obh\u00e1n Hapaska and Anya Gallaccio\u2019s \u201cAll the rest is silence\u2026\u201d, indigo dye slowly permeates a large piece of silk which gradually evolves as time passes. The exhibition is open Tues \u2013 Sat, 11am \u2013 5pm until Saturday 2 February and admission is <strong>FREE<\/strong>.\u00a0Find out more about the exhibitions <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jhg.art\/whats-on\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For those in theatre, the <a href=\"https:\/\/southamptonuniversityplayers.wordpress.com\/\">Southampton University Players (SUP)<\/a> will be performing Agatha Christie\u2019s \u201cAnd Then There Were None\u201d at Nuffield Southampton Theatres\u00a0 (NST) from 23 \u2013 26 January. She was the first woman to be elected both to the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy and she was given the prestigious title of Her Majesty\u2019s Painter and Limner in Scotland in 2001. The exhibition draws on the artist\u2019s studio to tell a story about a remarkable woman. the exhibition is on 18 January 2019, 9:00 &#8211; 20 March 2019, 15:00<\/p>\n<p>I hope you\u2019ve been inspired to get and try something new this January and more importantly to give yourself a well-earned break from your work.
