Southampton University Players, better known today as SUP Theatre Company<\/a>, is bringing the classic Agatha Christie novel\u00a0AND THEN THERE WERE NONE<\/a>\u00a0to the stage at NST Campus (Nuffield Southampton Theatres) in January.<\/p>\n

The SUP Theatre Company<\/a> (SUP), founded in 1965 as a staff club, is currently rehearsing its next production: a thrilling new version of Agatha Christie\u2019s mystery AND THEN THERE WERE NONE<\/a>, being performed at NST Campus<\/a>\u00a0from 23 -26 January 2019. Described as a masterpiece of dramatic construction, the new production is a full-blooded adaption of the classic thriller by Christie, who is now acknowledged as the world\u2019s bestselling author of all time. Using the author\u2019s own text, the show returns to her original intentions: to drive home the suspicion, fear and paranoia of the situation, as tension among the 10 guests builds towards the play\u2019s unforgettable climax.<\/p>\n

Members of SUP include university staff, students and alumni together with people from across Hampshire, attracted by opportunities in acting, directing, writing, design, costume, lights, sound and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have always maintained close ties with the University, and still rehearse and perform on Highfield Campus,\u201d says Gavin Costigan (University of Southampton Director of Public Policy), currently rehearsing the role of Lord Justice Wargrave, which marks his return to the stage after a long absence.<\/p>\n

SUP\u2019s 2018-19 season follows an enormously successful year that saw the group win Best Play at the Southern Region of the All England Theatre Festival and come within one point of progressing to the English final. Each year, SUP raises money for charity and performs at other venues and events, from Murder Mystery Dinners, to \u201cIntroduction to Acting\u201d workshops for its members from Spring 2019. Membership is open to all, with no experience necessary.<\/p>\n
