Dr Julian Whitewright will be the\u00a0Archaeological\u00a0Institute of America’s Steffy Lecturer for\u00a02014-2015.<\/p>\n

Julian will be delivering lectures at the University of Missouri, the\u00a0University of Toronto\u00a0and the\u00a0University of Michigan during late October. He’ll present both his ongoing\u00a0work\u00a0into\u00a0the sailing rigs of the ancient Mediterranean and\u00a0research on\u00a0eighteenth and nineteenth\u00a0century British ships and shipbuilding.<\/p>\n

The Steffy Lecturer was\u00a0established by the AIA in 2008\u00a0to commemorate J. Richard Steffy’s life work on wooden shipbuilding and the interpretation of shipwrecks.<\/p>\n
