Monday 1, December 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kate started the meeting by welcoming all members to our first online meeting and making sure everyone was happy with using Teams and had live captions switched on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, Kate briefly outlined what ALL_EARS@UoS is all about: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our<\/strong> goal i<\/strong>s to create partnerships <\/strong>between researchers <\/strong>and people <\/strong>with lived experience of deafness <\/strong>and hearing loss.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these partnerships, we aim to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Inform and prioritise the research that gets done.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Drive research outcomes that make a positive difference\u00a0for deaf and hard of hearing people and their families.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Empower people\u00a0to seek out the healthcare they need for their hearing loss or deafness.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The meeting objectives were to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Discuss deaf awareness and our aim to co-produce a useful resource.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Discuss the ideal format and content for our online meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Discussion 1: Building a co-produced deaf awareness resource  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Kate outlined the idea to co-produce a deaf awareness resource which initially came from Sue Boswell.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Aim: To co-produce a deaf awareness resource which can be used in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
