We welcome anyone interested in our research in Southampton. You may have lived experiences to share, or you may be fascinated by the world of cochlear implants, what they can and cannot do, and would like to add your perspective and knowledge to the research ideas and projects. You can be as involved in our research as you want to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We meet in person every 2-3 months, usually on the University campus. Our meetings are 2 hours and we provide refreshments such as tea, coffee, and cakes. We discuss different research projects and ideas. The group shares their experiences of hearing loss and cochlear implants, helping to inform our research questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are linked with the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service, part of the University of Southampton. The researchers who co-lead ALL_EARS@UoS are based in the Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Faculty recognises the importance of a diverse public voice in our research. We aim to achieve this through integrated Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Public and patient involvement is research being carried out with or by members of the public rather than to, about or for them. Public engagement focuses on distributing research findings and knowledge to members of the public through activities and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
