Wednesday 1 st November
Reech held its first outreach festival to celebrate our research and public engagement in Biological Sciences and to invite new students and staff in BioSci to find out more about future activities and how to get involved.
There were 7 displays and 2 hours flew by!
Shmma showed off the changing Minds display; Jane Cleal used her placenta maze to highlight how life style can influence unborn babies health.
Neil Gosling has a range of fascinating fossils, Rob Holland used his brilliant comic book on bioenergetics and Jessica used how making snot can be used to highlight the role of the immune system in fighting bacterial infections and some of the audience were treated with a brain cake.
Finally, Judith Lock showed the in’s and out’s of the Bioblitz project and the unforgettable zebraversity project, Herman Wijnen used real clocks to explain the importance of biological clocks and Bill Keevil featured in a film and explained how copper surfaces can be used as antimicrobial strategies.
The science communication student chatted to everyone to get their information to write their blogs- we cant wait to see the results.
