Help us to buy our Zebra!
This summer the University took part in Marwell Wildlife’s ‘Zany Zebras’ sculpture trail, taking biodiversity and conservation research into Southampton city centre with our very own Zebraversity, attracting 1000s of visitors. A series of weekly events were held next to the sculpture run by the BioBlitz team including a tree bark challenge and an opportunity to create bug hotels and bird feeders.
The sculpture trail has now ended and the Zany Zebras will soon be making their way to auction, however the BioBlitz team are now fundraising in a bid to buy Zebraversity and release her into Valley Gardens, Highfield Campus. The team have estimated that they need around £3000 in order to be successful at auction and are looking to raise this by the 18th of October via a crowdfunding site.
