This year, Hampshire Pride took place in Winchester on Saturday 24th February 2018. The largest Hampshire Pride yet, the day started awash with colour and music at Winchester School of Art. The paraders met at 1pm to a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. The parade kicked off at 2pm, and walkers were greeting by tooting cars and passers-by who waved flags and gave cheers of support.
The route took the paraders from the bottom of the high street, by the King Alfred statue, up through Winchester market, through the Cathedral grounds, and back onto the high street. The parade then continued on to the Queen Elizabeth II Court.
After the parade, there was an indoor festival with stalls and food, followed by the after party from 7.30pm at the University of Winchester Student Union. More details of the day can be found on the Hampshire Pride website, and below are a selection of photos the Pulse LGBT+ Staff Network took at the event. We can’t wait to see what next year’s Pride brings!
