Excel Southampton Awards 2015

On Thursday 17th September we held the Excel Southampton Awards ceremony at The Hilton at The Ageas Bowl. This annual event recognises and celebrates the achievements of our students during their internships, organised and facilitated by the Excel Southampton Internship Programme. We also recognise the outstanding contribution of our host employers, who enable our students to gain the vital skills, advice and experience that are so crucial in today’s competitive job market.

Nearly 300 guests attended, including delegates from local and national organisations, participating students and key members of the University staff. This provided an excellent opportunity to network and increase awareness of our various services, both in the business community and internally within the University.

Professor Alex Neill, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Education, presented awards to students from various faculties based on the University’s values of Excellence, Creativity, Community and Integrity, as well as an award for Outstanding Achievement. There were also three additional awards presented to employers including Business Host, University Host, and our first ever Third Sector Host of the Year award.

The event was a great success, allowing us to highlight the importance and reward of collaboration. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
