Mass

The quantity of matter which a body contains, as measured by its acceleration under a given force or by the force exerted on it by a gravitational field.

Newton

Isaac Newton was well known for his work on gravity and the three laws of motion.   A Newton unit refers to how much force is required to make a mass of one kilogram accelerate at a rate of one metre per second squared.
