Using Social Media To Secure A Job

Before the Christmas break, the Digichamps were approached to provide BioMedical Science Graduates with advice on what to do and what not to do with social media when entering the job industry for the first time.

With 92% of recruiters using social media during the hiring process, it’s vital that potential employers get the right first impression after Googling you. This means that managing your digital footprint is of utmost importance in ensuring that they see the side of you that you want them to.


Fellow Digichamp Merel van Dijke, senior marketing lecturer Dr. Lisa Harris and I presented a 45 minute presentation on social media best practices and information in order to guide students more seamlessly into the job market.

This talk has since gained a great deal of interest, and due to popular request the presentation slides have now been uploaded to Slideshare.
