iPads and other mobile devices

It is easy to show an iPad (or iPhone) display to your students by using an Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter (around £40).

  1. Plug the adapter into your iPad and connect it to the bench’s HDMI cable.
  2. Select the HDMI option on the control panel.
  3. Alternatively, use an adapter and HDMI cable to connect your iPad to the lectern bench’s Auxiliary HDMI port. Most adapters include a Lightning port, so you can also connect your iPad to the USB power port using your charging cable. Select the Aux HDMI option on the control panel.

Other devices, such as Android tablets/phones or Microsoft Surface computers will require different adapters/cables but the process is basically the same. See HDMI connections for further advice.

Wireless connections

Connecting wirelessly to the data projector, so you can freely move around the room with your iPad/device is much more complicated, and requires another Wi-Fi device (e.g. an Apple TV or MacBook for an iPad) to be connected to the data projector. If you really need this capability, please contact ServiceLine for advice.

Most CLS rooms have an auxiliary HDMI port and USB power port, usually found on the side of the lectern:
