All CLS teaching rooms have Eduroam Wi-Fi that supports basic internet connectivity (messaging, web browsing etc.) but not high-bandwidth usage – such as lots of students watching streaming video.
Be aware that high-demand uses, such as showing a YouTube video on your laptop, may be problematic if the students in the room are also making heavy use of the bandwidth available. Can you use the bench PC for that part of the session instead?
If you wish to use a laptop, tablet or other mobile device in a CLS teaching room:
- Make sure it is configured to automatically connect to Eduroam.
- If your device asks you to enter your username and password to connect to Eduroam (it happens sometimes) remember to use your full username e.g. ab1c16@soton.ac.uk and your usual University password.
