In this fifth blog, I was asked to share my experience of my internship. It was agreed that this would be a good way for the wider CHEP community to learn more about the interns and the work that we are doing.   I have been able to learn a huge amount about what CHEP stands for, as well as about the sector of work I was carrying out.

Being a CHEP intern has given me a great opportunity to strengthen and broaden my skillset. Participating in a remote internship has meant adjusting to working online and talking with colleagues over MS Teams. Open communication was one of the strongest and most apparent skills that I learned during my internship. The hours have flown by since I have got acquainted with the job. My hiring manager was very welcoming to talk to and also went the extra mile to advise me about choosing particular workstreams that would align with my future career goals. CHEP wanted the work that we do as interns to be beneficial for us as well as them; being a CHEP intern has given me a great opportunity to greatly enhance skillsets and acquire experience that are required for my future aspirations

I have greatly enjoyed working with my fellow interns and engaging in interesting workstreams. It has been great to take on these projects in Personalised Learning and Enhancing Academic Transitions.

This internship has granted me to develop my quantitative analysis skills whilst working with a variety of data sources. I aspire to be a data analyst and this internship opportunity has provided me valuable experience in handling data in a real life setting. I gained a new sense of professionalism and a clearer view of what it meant to be in the professional world.

I felt very comfortable and welcomed into the team. I was able to learn a huge amount about what CHEP stands for, as well as about the sector of work I was carrying out. Additionally, I wanted to gain further insight into my strengths and interests which I believed would be best exposed by working in the CHEP internship.
