The sixth episode of our ‘Teaching and Scholarship Podcast’ series, put together by Dr Scott Border, Principal Teaching Fellow in Anatomy (Medicine) is now available. This podcast is aimed at everyone in the University with a keen interest in innovative teaching practice and educational research. It is intended to cultivate our growing teaching community and provide advice on advancing careers.

In the first series we will be speaking to our leading educational figures with a track record of delivering excellence and innovation. We will be talking to them about defining teaching excellence and innovation in education as well as discussing wider issues such as TEF and the challenges faced in improving NSS ratings.

In episode 6 we talk to Shelley Parr who is the Director of the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) at the University of Southampton. In this role she is responsible for a major aspect of the University 10 Year Plan and strategy in leading the transformation of professional learning of academic staff. Formally the Director of Undergraduate Programmes in the Faculty of Medicine, Shelley gained recognition for leading a team of staff and students towards a successful application on behalf of the Faculty for an international ASPIRE student engagement award.
